Lunch Talk by Dr.Jacqueline Spicer, Posdoctoral Researcher, Aalto ARTS, Department of Art. 

Jackie Spicer is an art historian and portrait artist, currently a postdoctoral researcher at Aalto University, Department of Art. She previously taught at the University of Edinburgh, where she received her PhD in History of Art in 2015. Her research investigates the material and visual culture of cosmetics in Renaissance Italy. She is currently looking at how cosmetic recipes fit into dialogues of gender, sex and health, while exploring how hands-on experimentation with historical material and methods can inform scholarly dialogues.
