The Forum of Equality in Culture: Accessibility 3.0 will be organized in November

The Forum of Equality in Culture is a three day event, which will be held November 2nd to November 4th 2016 in Helsinki. The forum kicks off on Wednesday Nov 2nd, with a series of workshops around the capital area. On the following morning, we will gather in a seminar day at Media Centre Lume, and on Friday the 4th we will have introductory visits to several local organizations.

We are happy to have Åsa Lindgren from Tekniska museet (The National Museum of Science and Technology, Stockholm) as the seminar keynote speaker. Megamind exhibition at Tekniska museet has been celebrated as accessible, inclusive and participatory project.

In addition, the seminar program includes several case presentations, preliminary workshops and discussions that will touch upon accessibility and technology in fields of libraries, exhibitions, theatre, film, dance, living cultural heritage, augmented reality, electromagnetic hypersensitivity, programming, audio description, 3D-technique, different senses, remote participation and aging in the program. The forum is meant for stakeholders in the field of arts and culture, experts in technology and accessibility, users of culture and everyone interested.

Registration

Registration to preliminary workshops and seminar day by October 14th 2016 at the latest here: http://www.kulttuuriakaikille.fi/the_forum_of_equality_in_culture_registration

The entry fee of the seminar day 3rd November is 20 euros until 31.8. and after that 40 euros. The entry fee includes light lunch and coffee on 3rd November. Students and unemployed 10 euros. The entry is free of charge for personal assistants. Please notify us about your personal assistant when registrating. Participating in the preliminary workshops on 2nd November and the introductory visits on 4th November are free of charge for everybody.

The main languages of the forum are English and Finnish but you can also participate to some discussions in Swedish. There are interpretation between Finnish and English, interpretation in Finnish Sign Language, speech-to-text interpretation and audio description on the seminar day November 3rd.

The forum is partly financed by the Ministry of Education and Culture, The Swedish-Finnish Cultural Foundation and William Thurings stiftelse.
